Dr Hairstans was part of the task group collaborating with the Institution of Structural Engineers, for the IStructE / TRADA Manual for the Design of Timber Building Structures to Eurocode 5.

Author of a TRADA Technology book "Off-Site and Modern Methods of Timber Construction".

Tony Fillingham has over 35 years experience in the Timber Engineering industry in both design and manufacturing.

He has been a member of the UK Head Code committee for Timber Design, and edited and wrote the majority of the Trussed Rafter section of PD6693-1 (the UK NCCI document to EC5) on behalf of the TRA. As part of a small team, he edited the last two major amendments to BS5268-3.
